Alice Mcgillivary Gourley (Pearson Mum)was born on 19th December 1933 in West Weymss she was sister to Jessie,Jean,Bill,Mary,John and a half brother Bill she was a much loved sister brought up in the Coaltown of Wemyss she began her working life at Dempsters the chemist in St Clair Street before she began as a clippie on the buses. It was about that time she found herself dancing at that famous venue,The Tudor In Kirkcaldy It was there she met a fell in Love with my Dad George Pearson (Dod) They were married on 5th March 1955 The next couple of years saw them having two children John and then myself June then along came the Granchildren and Great Granchildren, Mum and Dad were the closest of couples and for over fifty years they shared a Love that never wavered they were always together and they were utterly dedicated to all there family. Mum was more than just a loving wife Mum and a Gran she was a shoulder to lean on and take comfort she listened to everyone's problems she always knew the right words to say and she was always able to make things seem so much better her favourite saying was You aw right, and Love you. When we lost dad it was like the candle had burnt down and the light went out she gave up she'd lost her right arm and her fight for life and although we were all there it wasn't the same for her she'd lost her True Love. She had moved into West Parks Nursing Home on the 14th August 2007 but she knew she wouldn't be staying very long and on the 21st August 2007 Mum took Dads hand and followed him to a better place and although she has left us all here for now I know she will still be looking after us all and when my time has come she will take me by the hand and lead me. 21st August will always be the saddest day in my life for I didn't just lose my Mum I lost my best friend. Mum was the Anchor in our family her house was where everyone would meet no one can ever replace what has been lost or fill her shoes we had a lifetime together but still it wasn't long enough. Love You Mum Always XXX
